Pastoral care and prayer

Illness, bereavement, loneliness, or a stretch when things are simply hard. You do not have to be a churchgoer to ask.

To ask for a visit, or for prayer

Ring or email the Rector. Nothing you say goes any further without your say-so, unless it is a safeguarding matter.

Clergy visits are available on request. Give Phili a ring, and please do not assume she will be too busy.

If you are ill or housebound

Holy Communion can be brought to you at home or in hospital, as often as you would like.

If someone has died

Grief does not keep to the timetable of a funeral, and the hardest stretch is often several months later when everyone else has stopped asking. Phili is glad to talk then, and for as long as it is useful. See also funerals.

Prayer

We pray for people by name in our services, and privately. If you would like yourself or someone else remembered, tell us; if you would rather it were not said aloud, say so and it will not be.

Visiting, together

A Pastoral and Mission Group meets every quarter, and we would like to train more people as pastoral visitors. If you could see yourself sitting with someone for an hour a week, tell the Rector.
